The Scope of Work for this phase of a $5M IDIQ for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) contract involved structural inspections of existing hydraulic structures and the preparation of formal reports for the “Civil Structures and Bridges Periodic Inspection Program.”

ILSI Engineering provided the personnel, equipment and transportation necessary to conduct the inspections of the hydraulic structures located on the levee systems, major rivers, bayous and canals throughout the New Orleans District.  The inspections and the prepared reports evaluated the safety, stability, operational adequacy and functionality of each of the structures.   The requirements and criteria set forth in the USACE Engineering Manuals for civil structures, safety of dams, hydraulic steel structures, evaluation of fracture critical members, and inspections for pedestrian/roadway access bridges were followed during inspection and reporting.

Periodic Inspection Reports were prepared for the following structures this phase of the project:

    • Pointe Coupee Drainage Structure
    • Bayou Darbonne Drainage Structure
    • Bayou Courtableau Drainage Structure
    • Freshwater Bayou Lock
    • Catfish Point Control Structure
    • Larose Floodgate
    • Calcasieu River Salt Water Barrier
    • Leland Bowman Lock
